The Canine Zone Fund

HELPING US TO HELP THEM...

Non-profit organisation The Canine Zone Fund was launched in 2013 by Sharon Dale (Editor-in-Chief of Canine Zone magazine, Cesar's Way magazine for Cesar Millan the Dog Whisperer) and Dee Ivings (Deputy editor of Cesar's Way and Canine Zone magazine) after they were exposed on a daily basis to the horrific acts of neglect and cruelty happening in our country and to the increasing battle that dog shelters have to face in raising funds for food and veterinary care.

Over one million dogs are unnecessarily euthanised every year and our shelters are jam-packed.  Government gives no financial assistance to domestic animal rescue. One of the biggest expenses that shelters have to cover is veterinary and medical costs.  More often than not, animals taken into the shelters need to see a veterinarian for varying levels of treatment and routinely have to be spayed or neutered, de-wormed and vaccinated.  We also often receive requests for help from owners who, although they love their animals and take care of them to their best ability, just cannot afford veterinary costs when their animals fall ill or need an operation.

The fund will also assist in covering the costs that animal activists incur whilst trying to lobby against the sale of dogs over our borders for use as food, drug mules and fighting and in their efforts to stop cruel puppy mills and the sales of puppies in pet stores.

The long term plan of The Canine Zone Fund is to set up a retirement shelter for old dogs and cats who have special needs and deserve to live out their lives in safety and love.

We would like to send out heartfelt plea to you to put a debit order in place each month for anything from R20 onwards into our account. Every little bit helps and with your assistance we can help animals in need on a monthly basis.  On our Facebook Page, Canine Zone, we will keep our benefactors updated as to how the monies we raise are spent.

Just recently we were able to contribute funds towards the veterinary care of a severely starved Great Dane as well as a Bull Terrier who desperately needed an operation to his leg and who was living in great pain. We also deposited the first proceeds from the sales of our Cesar's Way Hero Dog calendar into the accounts of Lucky Lucy, Woodrock and Cat's Cradle shelters. We were able to do this thanks to the kind sponsorship we received from Cresta Hotels. We have even assisted in the cremation costs of a very dear dog belonging to an underprivileged family.

By standing together we can make a huge difference in the lives of many dogs!

CORPORATE DONATIONS - GIVING BACK TO THOSE WHO CANNOT SPEAK

We would like to send out a plea to corporates in South Africa to become one of our sponsors as part of their CSR initiatives and in return, we pledge to promote the fact that these special corporate donors have an interest in saving our animals on a regular Canine Zone Fund page in Cesar's Way and All about Cats magazines.

Corporates are bombarded with requests for donations and by donating to The Canine Zone Fund on a regular basis, we can insure that your money is placed where it is needed most. We will also give you exposure for your help of our countries precious animals.  As Mahatma Gandhi once said - "The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated."
